Your reflections stay private.

Master of Self is run by Vlad Ciuca, Bucharest, Romania. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].

• Your account: the email address, name and picture your sign-in provider gives us, and a random account id. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, Inc.
• Your reflections: everything you write in the app — intentions, reflections, highlights, notes, the practices you choose or create, and your settings, including the time zone and day split you set so your morning and evening are your own.
• Facts about use: which screens the app showed and in which order, never what was written on them. We use PostHog's cookieless analytics in the EU; no cookie is set and no profile is built about you. If you send feedback, it carries the screens you passed through and your device type — never what you wrote.
• Technical logs: our servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) for security, deleted after 14 days.

We store your account and your reflections to run the service you asked for (contract). Because a journal can hold anything — your health, your beliefs, your relationships — we also ask for your explicit consent when you create an account: we keep what you write only so you can read it back. You may withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account. Analytics and logs rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and safe; the analytics never identify you beyond your account id.

No one else in the app can see them. We do not read them, analyse them, sell them, share them, or use them to train anything. The person who runs the service can technically reach the database to fix a problem you report, and does nothing else with it. If we ever offer features that look at your entries for you, they will be opt-in, said in plain words, and off by default.

Your data lives on servers in Germany (netcup GmbH, Nuremberg). Sign-in runs through Clerk, Inc. in the United States, under the safeguards in their data processing agreement. Our hostnames sit behind Cloudflare, which sees your IP address in transit.

As long as you have an account. Delete it from Settings and everything — reflections, practices, account — is erased at once, with no copies kept.

You can see everything we hold about you by opening the app; you can ask us for a copy; you can correct your name and settings yourself; you can delete it all from Settings. You can also write to [email protected] for any of this, and you may complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP) or your own.

Only the ones that keep you signed in. Nothing for tracking, so there is no banner to click.

Master of Self is for people aged 16 and over.
